For over 20 years, Desert Institute has been offering hands-on, one-of-a-kind programs to help visitors of Joshua Tree National Park better understand the vast, complicated, and magical place that is the California Desert. Through a mix of activities–like natural science classes, family-friendly events, and backcountry adventures–we work to inspire people of all ages and backgrounds to find their own special connection to the unique resources of the park and surrounding deserts. We’ve got something for everyone!
