The Joshua Tree Half Marathon is a night race in Joshua Tree, California on November 2, 2024.

This half marathon takes you through the desert and under the stars with colorful lights leading you to the finish! The race starts at 6:00 PM under the spectacular night sky just outside of the national park, an International Dark Sky Park. Learn more about the race here.

In November, the Joshua Tree area is likely to be:

Cool to cold! Expect highs in the 60s and lows in the 30s.

Dark! The closer you are to Joshua Tree National Park, the fewer conventional light sources there are. You are required to bring a headlamp for the race, but you may also want to bring other light sources, especially if you plan to camp.

Busy! November’s great weather and holidays often bring more people to the area. Reserve your lodging ahead of time, especially if you hope to spend the night inside the park. We recommend signing up to get alerts when campsites open up.
